“I paid on line for long stay parking. When I returned from holiday and tried to get out, the barrier said I owed £180. The operator said I had parked in the wrong place, there was no information given as to where I could or couldn't park, the car park was packed so I found the only available place I could. The operator then said the cost would be an extra £8.00 and removed the 180 charge. Was i being conned here?”
“It was so easy to book car parking on line. The problem is when we tried to leave the car park we were charged a further £40 off pounds to enable us to get out of the car. We had already paid over £70 for pre parking fee. Other than that it was quick to park and go inside the airport.”
“Always use the 'Meet and Greet' car park and add on the Fast Track passes. Cheaper options are available but the convenience and close proximity to the terminal make it worthwhile.”
“As you cannot stop near the airport (you will be fined by their automatic APN system) if you drive up to the carpark barrier you may be in the wrong carpark and there is no way to turn around. You are then stuck with whichever carpark you get to unless you can drive right through and exit immediately to the right carpark. It is very confusing - I would say possibly delibertely.
There is no way to ask anyone which car park you should be in and if you speak to the operator and they let you in to the wrong car park you can then be asked to come up with 60 GBP extra when you leave which happened to us.
This happened to us after paying 80 GBP for the week.
After my wife screaming at the operator for 30 mins he let us out.
The operator when we arrived did not say we were in the wrong car park but simply let us in as the APN was not opening the barrier. He had by letting us in confirmed we believed that we were in the right carpark. On the way out we were told we should have been in "park smart", probably 30 seconds extra walk. Ridiculous.
BE VERY CAREFUL TO CHECK WHERE TO GO ON ARRIVAL AND BE EVEN MORE CAREFUL NOT
TO STOP IN THE WRONG PLACE FOR EVEN 30 SECONDS TO ASK AS YOU WILL RECEIVE A FINE.
