“We had prepaid for a weeks parking but inadvertenly parked in the wrong car park (it was 4.00am and very dark!). We didn't know this until our return and had to pay an additional £16 before we could exit. I suspect we're not the first to have had this experience”
“We dropped the car off and picked it up without a problem. But it's called "Meet and Greet" and we didn't meet a single person - there was no human interaction from start to finish. A sad indictment of the times; definitely not the way forward.”
“The email I was sent did not give clear instructions as to which car park to use. Then at exit they attempted to charge me a much higher rate which I challenged but still had to pay an extra charge for parking in the wrong car park. Very disappointed”
“I pre booked parking on 20/10/2025 in the long stay car park. Upon arriving my number plate was not recognised and I mistakenly pressed the ticket button instead of intercom and was given a ticket. Upon my return the barrier again did not rise and a£120 fee was flashing. I pressed the intercom and operator asked for my reg which he said wasn't recognised. I gave him my reference number and I was then allowed to leave. After pre booking I did not expect all this aggravation”
“ANPR did not recognise my booking. The help button is very difficult to see. I eventually got in. I then used the machine to call and get things sorted for my return. Nothing was done. When I tried to leave the ANPR didn’t work again. I waited a while for an answer. Someone took my reference and let me out. They didn’t even say that’s it sorted, just opened the barrier and no hint of an apology from any of the 3 contacts.”
“I dropped my wife off at the hotel car park park as she wasn't well. I tried to get out and was unsure of how to pay. I drove round and saw a fat bloke sitting in some sort of office. He was on the phone and I waited.....and waited. Eventually he just put his finger up. Obviously his phone call was so important. I found out how to get out and it cost me £18. What a rip off. I drove round to the smart stay which I had prebooked. They had no record of the booking until I produced the email confirmation. Pretty poor.”
“We followed red line for long stay .couldn't get in and told to take a ticket.then advised to call when we wanted to leave .we got back and was told we were in wrong carpark.and needed to pay £482.gave them my reference number, and fee reduced to £48 .had to pay this to get out.was not happy.”
“I paid almost £100 recently to park in the Smart car park at Liverpool Airport... I check the directions via Google maps and what3 words.... got to the airport and could not find any signs for Smart car park. . Because of the one way system I was forced to park in the long term car park. Whilst I was away I wrote to Smart car parks via the email they had sent with my booking.... nothing tired again... nothing. Tried calling the number given no reply! So in the end I found an email address on the Liverpool Airport website, wrote and they responded and told me what to do on my return... I then had to pay an extra £2 per day to leave the car park. Won't be using Smart car parks again... it will be cheaper to get a taxi!”
“The actual parking wasn't too bad , but on collecting my car withing 1 min of leaving the airport I had broken down as shock had snapped from the mount , not sure how far they move your car from drop off point ,but the car was fine driving to the airport I knwo that much .”
“Smart park - difficult to find a space at 5.30am Sat morning, then very dark walking back to it at 8pm Sun evening. Floodlights off? Would not recommend it, sorry”
“It's easy enough to get in but funding the way out was a nightmare. I've never been in such a badly signed car park. The road markings all seem to be in dire need of repainting and there are far too few visible exit signs.”
“It was difficult to find the right car park,in fact we parked in the wrong place and had to pay extra. The signs are not clear and not enough of them, especially exit signs.”
“No inidcation of where available spaces may be, signage was poor and lettering on the road was mostly eroded or in the pitch black so finding the exit at 3 in the morning was not simple for my 80 year old farther. Further sigange (blue signs) were better but still left a lot to be disired.
My 6 year old would be able to design a clear and simple car park with adqute lighting and signage.
1 Star extra beacuse you tried.”
“The spaces are a good size so there's less chance of your car getting hit by others, no damage/break in to my car or any other car i could see. That said, it's an outragous price for parking, i'll be getting a taxi next time as is 1/4 of the price.”
